This class is for adults who want to learn how to groom their own dogs! Whether you've already started practicing and just need help perfecting your home grooming or you've never even picked up a clipper - this group class is for you. One personal dog (with crate/carrier) per participant welcome!
You will be guided by Hamisha, salon owner and 19 year veteran of the industry, who will help you develop basic handling skills, teach you industry terminology and tool safety/usage, and be given a tool list, book and continuing education recommendations, and visuals for grooming your own pets at home. All tools, equipment, shampoos, etc provided for the class. Each participant will also have the opportunity to perfect a haircut using real tools on a model dog (plastic model dog with synthetic hair) whether or not they bring their own dog. This is great practice before you cut your own dog, and provides a back up if your dog is too distracted/stressed in a group grooming environment, or if you don't have/want to bring your own dog.
Please pack a snack/lunch and a water bottle! This is a single day workshop and will run from 9 am - 2 pm on designated dates. Participants will be able to take their model dog home to keep. Cancellations are possible up to 1 week in advance for 75% refund.
